Shuttle Bus Service

I'm looking into Istanbul hotels and among the amenities, they often list "shuttle bus service." What exactly dies that mean? It sounds like a shuttle bus to/from the airport. Is that right? (The hotels usually offer either "shuttle bus service" or "airport transportation," but not both.) Or is it best to ask the hotel directly and not assume anything?

Best to ask the hotel directly. We have been picked up at the airport by a van where we were the only occupants, and we also have had a shuttle bus which takes several people to their hotels or picks them up at various hotels and takes us all to the airport.
