I have often shiped a box home from my travels- full of special finds from where ever I am!
So in Turkey- do you think tha tshipping a box back to the US would be reliable? Have yu had experience with this?

It took a year for my postcards mailed to my family from Turkey to arrive. I had good luck shipping boxes from Greece to USA.

I have not heard good things about the Turkish Postal service, but I did not try using them. You might have better luck with a direct shipper like UPS. If you are staying at a hotel they may be able to offer advice. As plan B, you might pack a durable duffle bag you can check on the way home, or buy an inexpensive suitcase. Depending on what you buy, they may offer a reasonable direct shipping rate.
