I wonder if anyone can recommend a good rental car company to be delivered to our hotel prior to our leaving Istanbul?
Also-our trip in November is still ON, but any thoughts on safety in light of protests in many Turkish cities?
We plan to avoid the troubled areas...We hope for peace in the region but sadly unlikely in the near future...

We have used economycarrentals.com several times in different countries and so far have not had a problem with either pick up or drop off. On two trips to Turkey we rented cars in two different areas and had no problems. They are a wholesaler so you don't know the actual rental company until they confirm your reservation. There is no cancellation fee and we have cancelled and rebooked when we have found a better rate, often with the same car company.
