recommendation for a side trip from Istanbull to Cappadocia?

We are going to be on a cruise hitting some Turkish town along the coast. But we have to see Cappadocia, which is far inland.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a multi-day trip, maybe 2-3 days.......we could fly there, be there a couple of days, and fly back to Istanbul? There are a ton of companies and it is very confusing. It would be great to have a company that lwill reserve the hotel, arrange flights, and provide guide,

Any suggestions?

There are several tour companies that offer a trip to Cappadocia. Check Get your Guide and Viator. There may be others, but both these sites had several choices.

I hope you get a trip worked out. Seeing all the balloons aflight is a wonderful experience.

Cappadocia, however, is not the only place balloon rides are offered, although I don't remember where I saw them. Maybe there's another forum member that could offer suggestions.

If you fly, use Istanbul’s SAW Airport which is closer to central Istanbul, much smaller and much easier to
navigate than Istanbul’s huge IST Airport. Fly SAW to NEVSEHIR Airport (NAV) which is about 25 miles from GOREME, the central town for travelers visiting Cappadocia.
www.Skyscanner.com shows flight schedules and fares.
Hotels in Goreme are easy enough to book on www.Booking.com which is what we did when we stayed at the hotel called the “Shoestring Cave House.” It’s just one of many “Cave hotels” that have rooms built into the natural stone outcropping of the area.
There are all kinds of tour agencies that work with the hotels in GOREME, so it’s easy enough to arrange any kind of tour you like—including hot air balloon rides—through your hotel once you’re in GOREME.
Have a great trip!

The company Rick Steves uses for their Turkish tour guides also offers travel services for Turkey. You can contact them through their website, this is their page on Cappadocia: https://www.srmtravel.com/CR-Cappadocia.html

A bit confused by the comment "hitting some Turkish town along the coast" - do you not know what cruise ports you will be docking at? Is your cruise starting and stopping in Istanbul? Or will you be flying from a coastal town? Izmir and Antalya have decent size airports.

If you want to do a balloon ride (highly recommended) make sure you schedule the ride the first morning you are there. If balloons aren't allowed to fly, you can rebook to the next morning usually at no cost (check the terms and conditions).
