Private Guide or Group Tour in Cappadocia?

We will be traveling in Turkey in June with two teenagers. We will be in Cappadocia for 3 nights, giving us two full days and a half day (we fly to Istanbul at 6:10pm).

The red and green tours look interesting. I don't mind small group tours (10 or under), but the group tours I've found online have 15 15 people in them, which seems a little large.

Does anyone have recommendations for a private guide in Cappadocia?

Any other recommendations?

Thank you.

Hi blankfamily ,

We used Ms Ozgul's company for our day tour in Ephesus and their services were amazing. I think, they have an office at Cappadocia and they can arrange a private guided tour for you. If possible, you should request Askin who was our guide in Ephesus. He was really fantastic guide. online@legendephesus.com is their e-mail address.

Have a nice trip all of you...

Wishes,
Beth

Thank you, Beth! I'm just about to start planning our time in Ephesis. I'll look into using the guide you recommended.

We are about to take our family too. How did it go. Did you do the private tour guide? Our Gkids are 8,12, and 15.

Hi. Here's a review I posted on Trip Advisor regarding our time in Cappadocia.

My husband and I decided years ago that our family would travel internationally every other year. Our goal is to broaden our children's perspective of the world, expose them to different cultures and to hopefully create a love for travel.

Through our travels we've come to realize that your guide can make or break an experience. We had a wonderful guide in Rome (Jimmy of Roman Empire Tours) that left my son (age 12 at the time) hanging on his every word at the Roman Forum and my daughter (10 at the time) completely enthralled with the art at the Vatican. Until that point I never expected my children to be so engaged at a museum or historical site.

In June we traveled to Turkey with our son (now 16) and daughter (now 14). We visited Istanbul, Ephesus and Cappadocia. Our two days spent with Tugba Dogu of Turkey Boutique Tours were our two favorite days on our entire trip. We booked the Private Legend Tour and Private Dream Tour. Tugba was our guide both days. She was absolutely wonderful! We had just come from Ephesus where we had a private guide that spouted out so much information we all began to zone out. He was a bit like listening to a robot on autopilot. Ephesus was my kid's least favorite day on our trip...which surprised me since they loved the Roman Forum so much. It all comes down to the guide.

Tugba knows how to bring an area to life. She shares the right amount of information to leave you informed, without giving you so much that you can't absorb it. We really enjoyed our time with her. She is warm, welcoming and has a great sense of humor. Because of her, we left knowing more about this region and what life is like for a young adult living in Turkey.

Turkey Boutique Tour was very professional to work with. They were prompt replying to my emails and making arrangements for our family. We always knew we were in good hands.

I had researched may other tour companies in the Goreme area offering the Red, Green and Blue tours. I felt like Turkey Boutique Tour's Legend Tour and the Dream Tour offered the most comprehensive itinerary. We were very happy with all the sites we visited and the hiking was wonderful.

Turkey is such an amazing country. The people are so welcoming and friendly. We never felt unsafe. We would definitely return and would love to visit the Cappadocia region again.

Happy travels!
