Just want to say how much help we had setting up a private guide. Went to the Edmonds office of Rick Steve's to request help. One of the office ladies gave us the name Mert Taner and his email. When I contacted him, he was already booked on a tour. He asked if it was OK to pass our information on to a good friend Mutlu Bulut [email protected] Mutlu and his driver Ramazan picked us up at the Izmir airport and spent the day with us. We had such a wonderful time. My husband is a history nut and has done a lot of research on Ephesus. It was a lot of fun learning from Mutlu. He gave great details on not just the area but of the rich history of Turkey. He set up a private lunch and I had requested to know more about the carpet industry. The day was over too soon and they had dropped us at the airport to fly back to Istanbul.
