My wife and I are attempting purchase e-tickets for the Hagia Sophia. Rick's book recommends buying this ticket in advance at at https://www.muze.gov.tr/en, but all the verbiage on the website indicates that the authorities will snail mail us our e-ticket. Has anyone actually used this site and if so, were your tickets emailed to the address you provided them with? Thanks!
@michaelschifferli I'm wondering the same thing. Did you get an answer?
I have neither booked through nor contacted the site. Snail-mail delivery seems to be available only within Turkey. You can get to the payment page without entering a completely valid street address, which may be exactly what prompts your question.
But reading little notes like, "Please go to the museum with your e-ticket," I'm pretty ready to give them the benefit of the doubt that the booking link that specifically says "E-Ticket" will be delivered as an e-ticket, unlike the separate links for regular paper tickets.
Hi team,
I never heard a respond that made me comfortable enough to throw down the money on website. Not a vast sum of course. We ended up doing everything on-site - buying that tickest a little after 9AM. We were there in September, so the lines weren't as long as they might be earlier in the summer.
Best,
Mike
I know I am late here. Three years back (so I don't know if anything has changed) we simply went to the selling point near the Hagia Sofia around 6:00 PM on the day we arrived while wondering off our jet -lag (and losing a person who was trying to get us to his uncle's rug store while telling us we could not buy this at that time). Could not ahve been easier nor quicker, and hope this helps others.
