I tried to look up if the Whatsapp is approved in Turkey. I found out that this app is approved but also found answers that state it is not approved. Basically, I want to know what to use in order to stay in touch with family back in US as needed. I have an iphone and our carrier is Consumer Cellular.
Please advise if you have traveled to Turkey and how did you access internet and stay in touch, as well if it is ok to post on Facebook?

WhatsApp works very well all over Turkey. Need wifi for it. Your hotel wifi would be fine. Most restaurants have wifi, but you will probably have to ask for the password. Does Consumer Cellular have an international plan you could buy for your trip? That would be best. T Mobil has a great international plan and it is very reasonably priced. Verizon’s international plan is $10/day.
I have an aquaintance in Turkey that bothers me with Whatsapp way too often.
We just returned from Turkey. Each hotel gave us a free wifi password so you should have no problem posting on facebook.
