Packing for Turkey/Greece

My wife and I are going on a 13-day tour of Turkish and Greek sites where the Apostle Paul traveled. We are traveling in October.
I want to travel light, but do not know what to pack and what NOT to pack for touring here. Any suggestions? Thank you!

What time of year? That would be a big factor. If you want to pack light, there are many tips here: https://www.ricksteves.com/travel-tips/packing-light/packing-smart

No matter the time of year, you will need long pants and modest length skirts so you can visit mosques, and your wife will need a scarf that fully covers her head (and shoulders if she packs sleeveless tops). Sturdy and well broken in footwear for walking over uneven surfaces will be very important. If spring/summer time, a hat to protect from the sun is handy. And of course, sunscreen.

I can only comment on Turkey.

CL offers good advice. Good, sturdy walking shoes are a must, and one should dress modestly, including a headscarf women, when entering a mosque.

In Turkey in October, the temperatures should be moderate and comfortably warm. However, I would prepare for a few rainy/cloudy days -- not guaranteed but very possible. My recollection from a couple of October/November trips is that I tended to wear a t-shirt most of the time, with a hiking shirt layered over it sometimes in the mornings. I do recall that it was warm enough to swim in the Mediterranean around Fethiye (not too far south of Ephesus) in October. Are you going as far south as Antioch/Antakya? If so, the weather may be warmer there. If your tour includes Capadoccia, the evenings are likely to be cool, and a light sweater or fleece would be nice.

Looking at my October pictures from Ephesus, I am seeing mostly short sleeves, along with some 3/4 and long sleeves. Definitely no sweaters or jackets.

I would pack much the same way I would pack for southern Europe. Toiletries and such are readily available, especially in tourist areas and larger cities.
