Hi:
We will be disembarking a cruise ship in Instabul at Galata Port and will be exploring Instabul for another day before making our way to the airport that evening for a flight home the next day.
Are there locations within Instabul where one can store luggage for the day? I know there are some at GalataPort but it looks like it is quite a bit of security to get back in, so looking for something in the city somewhere.

I had no need to store luggage when I went to Istanbul, but it appears there are many options. Many of these places may be staffed storage locations (at hotels, stores, etc.) rather than banks of lockers:
I would double check that luggage storage at Galataport is after security, as the port website says it is in the visitor center which is open to the public (click on left luggage: https://galataport.com/en/services). It appears to be in the P1 parking level of the building. For convenience that would be the best place to store luggage as the port building has easy transport links to sightsee and it is an easy meeting point to arrange for a private driver or get a taxi to the airport.
