Has anyone stayed in Eğirdir? suggestions on hotels/pensions there? restaurants? We are driving from Cappadocia to Çatalhöyük in mid-June and plan to stay overnight in Eğirdir before continuing on to Şirince the next day.
Eğirdir seems like a more pleasant place to stay than Beyşehir or Konya, although I do wonder if we should stop in Beyşehir to see the Esrefoglu Mosque? any feedback on that would be welcome also.
Also any feedback on must-see stops on the drive from Eğirdir to Şirince (other than the obvious sights in Pamukkale and Aphrodisias)?
And any advice on balancing length of drive/convenient highways, with slower potentially more scenic roads? coming out of Eğirdir to Denizli it appears the fastest route is the O-31 (with tolls), but there's a southern route through Isparta and around Lake Burdur via D350/D650 that might be more scenic and only adds 30 minutes (if the Google map driving directions are accurate--I suspect I need to add a good cushion to any time estimate they give me).
