Hello. We will be in Kusadasi in May and plan to visit Ephesus one day, then head to Bodrum the second day. We are considering hiring private transportation for both; but any tips would be welcome!
I would rent a car to visit Bodrum. You can take a taxi to Ephesus.
@juliekay: We are also going to Kusadasi in May. Do you have a name/service in mind already for your private transportation or will you just consult the staff at your lodging? I hope to take a day trip to the House of the Virgin Mary.
You may be able to take a minibus from the Kusadasi bus station to Ephesus. If so it will be efficient and far cheaper than private transportation. I took one from Selçuk to Şirince and back a few months ago and it worked out well.
Hello. We will be in Kusadasi May 19, 20 and headed for Bodrum on May 21. I have not yet secured transportation. We plan to visit Ephesus on May 20, go to a late lunch and then return to our Air bnb area for the evening. The owner of the Air bnb said he could help us with transportation to Ephesus, and I have to still hire a car for the drive to Bodrum. I can share further details as I finalize plans if you thik that would help. Julie
Hello. Revisiting my post. Has anyone driven from Kusadasi to Bodrum? I know it is about a 2 hour drive. My husband is a bit nervous to rent a car and drive, but I am willing to do so. We will be headed from Kusadsi to Bodrum on May 21.
Any additional advice would be appreciated.
Julie
Although I have not driven from Kudasi to Bodrum, I have rented a car in western Turkey (Antalya). Driving was about the same as driving in the US. Roads were in good condition, including the D-type roads that you would encounter between Kudasi and Bodrum. Traffic rules were pretty similar. Traffic can be congested in cities. They have more roundabouts than in the US. Gas is expensive.
Basically, renting a car was easy-peasy, and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
