We (parents and tween) are considering visiting Istanbul in mid-April or mid-June (spring break/Holy Week or during summer break). Which timeframe do you recommend? Main factors for us are weather and crowds. While June seems like it would be less rainy than April and not as hot as later in the Summer (we would love to dine outdoors, take a cruise down the Bosporus, explore/lots of walking, etc) we are wondering what the crowds are like in mid-June. Parents have been to Istanbul before and know it’s a busy city, but we visited during the off season and haven’t seen first hand what the tourist crowds are like.
Thanks for your thoughts!

Based on temps this past April and June, I would choose April
My first visit was in April and I would prefer that to June. Also, the tulips between the Blue Mosque and the Haigha Sophia will be in bloom!
What Phillip said: April is pleasant ( 63 degree high) June was too hot when I was there two years ago ( 83 degrees and very humid).
April rainfall only amounts to 2” over 8 days on average.
I was in Istanbul in June this year and it was too hot. In a dense city with crowds it was fairly unpleasant at times,I would opt for April.
We were there in November. My gut tells me Spring over Summer. Have fun!
Thanks everyone!
I was there May 26 - May 30 this year. It was sunny every day and quite comfortable. If you go in June, make it very early June.
