Can anyone recommend particular Istanbul hotels with really good wifi? We will have some computer work that must be completed during our week-long stay, so reliable wifi is a top priority. We are open to suggestions for which area to stay in; currently we are thinking about the Old Town area. We travel late January. Thanks!
What is "really good" wifi? Do you need extra bandwidth to do video calls or just access the internet to get emails and such? If you have high capacity needs I would focus on a hotel that caters to the business crowd. Or, use a search engine like Booking.com and filter for properties that offer free wifi, then search the reviews to see if people complain about quality (only people who actually stay can leave a review on that site). FWIW I stayed at Agora Guesthouse and Galata's Hotel and both had perfectly fine wifi, though it wasn't always accessible in all areas of the hotel.
The hotel ratings on booking.com have a separate category for Wi-Fi.
I have stayed at Nippon Hotel, Taksim Point Hotel, Ottoman Legacy Hotel. All had consistent wi-fi that allowed me to do usual communication activities and some streaming.
We recently stayed at the Wings Hotel, just over the Galata Bridge from the Old Town.
The whole hotel was excellent, including the wifi. I highly recommend it, and the views are sensational.
