Istanbul hotel in Karakoy area for solo female

My third time in Istanbul and I'd like to stay in the Karakoy area - ideally situated for public transportation. I'm looking at The Wings hotel, 10 Karakoy Hotel, the Bank Hotel - those areas. Have you wandered around those areas or stayed in a hotel nearby? What are your thoughts?

It is a nice area and I would stay there if we return to Istanbul. We stayed closer to water at the Ritz-Carlton and had a terrible experience at that hotel with concierge and other staff..
