Istanbul hammans

For an incredible non-budget experience Hurrem Sultan Hamam - however it is E110. The aesthetics and service are unparalleled and I compare all hamam to that one so…. We are going back in a few weeks and this is booked already.

It seems like the ones that have been mentioned the most of this forum are high end ones. Does anyone know of any that are less expensive, perhaps frequented by locals rather than catering to tourists?

I also went to Hurrem Sultan Hamam and it is expensive compared to others, but it is beautiful and very historic property. The staff speak some English which was helpful to a first timer who didn't know what they were doing. I felt pampered and refreshed, worth a splurge in my opinion. I also went to a less fancy option in Antalya which was also an enjoyable experience.

There are dozens of hamams in Istanbul, but many of the recommended ones are closer to tourist areas which is where many people spend their time. Ask at your hotel or check the latest RS guidebook there is usually a less expensive option listed there.

I visited Calaloglu Hammam and Cukurcuma Hammam. I thought Calaloglu had better massages and a nicer enviroment. The prices have gone up since I was there in 2023. Then the standard treatment was about 65 euros and now I see it's 90-95 euros.

I don't know about looking for a cheap hammam- I would focus on good reviews and cleanliness.
