I have been to Istanbul once before and I LOVED the grand bazaar, but I found navigating it pretty difficult. I can really only find the tiniest maps, most of them drawn in a cartoony style. Especially once you get outside, the navigation pretty much falls apart. In watching the RS videos on Turkey he suggests going to see several artisans make things, but how to find them in such a maze was my issue. Has anyone put out a comprehensive map of the place? Any tips?
Tip. We were there three times. My wife is pretty good about finding her way around so we eventually could find what we wanted. She says "always go to the right" of course that eventually puts you back where you started. We always ask directions and the merchants in the Grand Bazaar are helpful. You will eventually find that some similar shops are congregated in one area. Just ask any shop person.
It's not that there's even something specific I have in mind, just that I want to get to parts I haven't seen! :)
