is it safe for indians to travel to turkey

I'll be honest—at first I would have said yes, it's fine, as I found the Turkish people to be very kind and helpful when I went (speaking as a white female), but I have read a few things lately that might come into play, like this article from yesterday: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c62v774d6l0o

So honestly, I don't know what to tell you. I would hope that it doesn't matter, but that is something no one knows. I would perhaps check with your government to see what they advise. Turkey is a beautiful country and I loved my visit there, but ultimately safety comes first. Good luck with whatever you decide!

Your situation is different from Americans who have recently asked about whether they should go ahead with planned trips to Europe. For new questions from Americans, those are now being removed from this Forum, because there were so many and they often got replies with political comments.

I can’t answer your question directly about Turkey, because I haven’t been there in a very long time. I’m also not Indian, but I wonder if people in Turkey would automatically know whether you were Indian, however they might feel about Indian visitors? I hope you receive information that will make you comfortable about going to Turkey.

I found the people of Türkiye warm and friendly. I think you would have no difficulties with the people themselves. I can’t speak to the current political situation between the two countries. I think the question that is probably the most important is how much will this worry impact your trip? If you will be caused a great deal of stress over this, will this still be the trip you had hoped for? All the best whatever you decide.

I hope all of the positve feeback here is true, but the truth is very few, if any, on this fourm know the Turkish culture well enough to provide an informed answer.
