That port is directly below Taksim which has many hotels, both international chains and local hotels. For example, there are two Crown Plaza properties. Use Taksim for your search.
We preferred staying in this area of Istanbul. The tourist hotel area is Sultanhamet across the bridge. That is where most tour groups stay.

Our RS Best of Istanbul tour stayed at the 4 star Haze Hotel, a small business style hotel, 1km from the shops at the Galataport. They have a lovely restaurant on the top floor for breakfast and dinner with large plate glass windows that open for near-outdoor dining. There is a JW Marriott Istanbul Bosphorus hotel, which I'm sure is pricey. I also see a 4 star Pera Bosphorus and a 5 star Novotel Bosphorus.
