Greetings All!
Going to Istanbul in August to visit family. I have been there twice before, but not recently. I do know that places can open and close regularly due to the economy.
I've searched this site and there isn't much recent info. Most of it is years old.
So any recommendations for reasonable, comfortable accommodations in the New Distict?
I already have Galatas Hotel on my radar.
Thanks !
I stay at a hotel in Cihangir, the Beyoglu neighborhood on a hill overlooking the Bosporus. The Cihangir Hotel has spectacular views from several balconied rooms. The view rooms ( “Superior Room w/Bosporus View”) are even a better deal when reserved well in advance. Set in a quiet corner of one of Istanbul’s most desirable neighborhoods, the Cihangir Hotel has elevator/AC and it’s just a 10-minute walk downhill from Taksim Square with its transit links to the airport and the Old City. Walking downhill from the hotel past the taxi stand on Arslanyatagi Street, takes you to Cihangir street and the waterfront. Here, you’ll find the Kabatas ferry port and the Findikli Tram station from where Istanbul’s #1 Red Tram ride goes over the Galata Bridge to Sultanahmet.
Have a great trip!
Sounds terrific but I keep getting a message that the site can't be reached. . .
Well I can see their website, from the UK- https://en.cihangirhotel.com/
It can be booked online at booking.com
As above, www.en/cihangirhotel.com is the hotel’s website. Booking.com and Hotels.com among other sites also list the Cihangir Hotel.
No luck getting into their website. Maybe they only go through booking.com.
Not ready to go that route so any other suggestions are most welcome.
The Burdock Hotel is very nice (part of the Marriott chain).
