Hi.. I am looking for a hotel close to the Blue Mosque/ Sophia/etc. I know I can google and read reviews..but really would like personal recommendations and the reasons. We are two women traveling from Southern California. There are so many I would like your help to choose one.. We will stay there for 4 days and again 2 days after touring the rest of Turkey. Thank you..

Check out the Doubletree Oldtown, walking distance to sites, and caters to business travelers.
Uused them pre-Covid for meetings.

We stayed at Hotel Arcadia Blue in April 2024 and got an upper floor, with a view of the Hagia Sophia and Sultan Ahmet “Blue” Mosque. The staff is professional, English speaking; they have an amazing restaurant bar on top floor with gorgeous view of the water and two landmarks. It is in a quiet area but very close to shops, restaurants, train stop. It is only a 5 min walk from Blue Mosque and an 11 min walk to Sophia Hagia. We were able to view these landmarks day and night. I also stayed at Dekalb hotel on the eastern side of Istanbul, that also was a well located hotel, with very good room rate. We just booked Boutique Hotel Saint Sophia Istanbul for three nights in October after lots of research. We haven’t stayed there yet (of course) but the reviews and customer service have been excellent and the location is very close to main sights which will help with our mobility issues. They have great pricing now on their own website.

We have booked Hotel Momento Golden Horn in Karaköy right near the Galata Bridge. We have a sea view double room with balcony for five nights, breakfast included, at 805E through booking.com (Genius discount applied). It has excellent reviews and seemed to give us the best balance of price and being near sites/transport. Plus, staying 5 nights, we have the bonus of being able to do a load of laundry before we leave for our next destination.
