I plan to get a Turkish bath when in Istanbul. I can't decide between the Ayasofya Hurrem Sultan Hamami or the Kilic Ali Pasa Hamami. If you have been to either, would you mind sharing your impressions?
Thanks,
Kat

Loved, loved, loved the Ayasofya Hamami. Not cheap but well worth it. A beautiful place to be truly pampered.
Thanks Patricia! What an endorsement :-)
When will you be in Istanbul? Post here how your bath was!
curious if you went...
i went to the kilic ali pasa last week. it was awesome. seriously the best experience i could have imagined. hamam full service was 150 TL. free drinks on offer, plenty of space to lounge around afterward. i added an hour-long massage separately for an additional 190. sure, it was pricey, but my balloon never lifted off in cappadocia, so it was kinda money in the bank for me.
Hi Kat,
As a local travel advisor, I would suggest you to go Hurrem Sultan Hamam, which is quite old but modernized (I assume 4-5years ago) and I could easily say it is the best, especially because of its location and for their services. In the meantime Kilic Ali pasa Hamam is newly renovated, it is also nice but you can keep it as you second option.
I believe you will find the given info, enough to decide, if you may need furthermore assistance, I would be pleased to share my knowledge. cheers, Ugur
I disagree with that opinion. Both of these hamams are 'luxury class' but at Hürrem Hamam you pay premium for it's proximity to the Blue Mosque and it's name association with the Ottoman royals. At Kiliç Ali Paşa Hamam you receive equal standard amenities and care but at a much better price.
And for those who are more interested in just having an excellent hamam without paying through the nose for a name there are plenty of lovely, hygienic, welcoming non touristy hamams around the city.
