Hagia Sophia access restricted

I read that tourists will no longer be allowed onto the ground floor of Hagia Sophia and the only areas they will be able to visit are the galleries on the upper floor. Among other things, this sounds like tourists won't be able to look up at the dome, which is a major reason for visiting. There's also an entry fee, but that seems reasonable. https://www.lonelyplanet.com/news/istanbul-hagia-sophia-entry-rules

Any information on what one can see?

You can look up at the Dome from the galleries. I did.

Unfortunate that the new Turkish regime isn’t as friendly as it once was. Negative side of politics.

It's a working mosque. They really don't want tourists gawking. This has been in the works for a number of years. Next step is to plaster and paint over the few symbols of Christianity that have been uncovered in the last 75 years.
