I am thinking to go to Istanbul then down to Izmir for a while then Greece.
One option is to fly from Izmir (Turkey) to Greece? There is an airport nearby called Chios Airport Omiros. The flight to Athens is faster and cheaper than from Istanbul. However, it appears to be on an island, and Google maps does now show any transport there. Anyone ever fly out of there?
Another option is take a train (since I will have a rail pass), because I would like to go to Thessaloniki (Greece) anyway. But Eurail does not show any train trips at all. Rome2Rio seems to show bus or bus & train trips.
Is there any kind of ferry from western turkey to one of the closest Greek islands?
