My spouse and I wish to visit Turkey, including the Göbekli Tepe archaeological site. Do any of Rick Steves’ Turkey tours include this? If not, is there a practical way to do a side tour before or after the main tour? We’d prefer to not do a lot of backtracking travel. The Rick Steves 13 day tour of Turkey looks interesting and passes not too far from Göbekli Tepe, but then goes far beyond it in the opposite direction.

As you see, RS Best of Turkey tour doesn't go near the border with Syria. On the fourth day of the tour, you visit the Anatolian Civilizations Museum in Ankara. It has a lot of artifacts of the early civilizations of Türkiye, including Göbekli Tepe. There was a lot presented there that I was not aware of. However, it would not be a substitute for Göbekli Tepe.
Lale Sürmen Aran runs SMR Travel in Türkiye. Besides writing RS Turkey guidebook and running RS Best of Turkey tour, SRM Travel does many other tours in Türkiye. They would be your best bet for a tour of Göbekli Tepe.
