Please provide the names and even better yet website addresses for any FOOD TOURS that you recommend in Izmir, Cappadocia, Istanbul. Thanks so much in advance!
For Istanbul, I recommend Culinary Backstreets. And I think they still have their 10% off holiday sale. They truly take you interesting neighbors and you see and eat things that "tourists" usually don't get to experience. I loved the ones I've taken in Lisbon, Barcelona, and Athens.

Our guide Tunc, was a registered guide, who led us through the chaotic Egyptian Market, taste testing cheeses, collecting ingredients for our first breakfast in the market. Nothing tastes like it looks. Such fun! Second breakfast was two kinds of soup; lentil and a lamb soup. Great fun watching these soups being assembled.
On to the Asian side of Istanbul by ferry. It is great to take a food tour early in your stay, because it gives you you a feel for transportation option. Off to Kadikoy, a younger hipper part of the city. There were sliced beef dishes with yoghurt, donuts, pickle juice, lamb, pide (flat bread pizza) baklava and at all times amusing and informative stories by our guide Tunc. Oh, that ice cream, Sade, heaven. It was a great food tour in October 2024 and no problems. Most important, nothing tastes like it looks. Delish! Remember to bring home some hazelnut spread, the Turkish one.
