Hello, I will be traveling from kusadasi to Samos via ferry. What is the prosses for the passport control in Samos? I have an American passport, if that makes a difference.
I've hear the waits can by upto 3 hours to get passed customs. Has anyone made this trip in the past and how long did it take to get passed customs?

I went in high season and there was a queue of 1 hour. You should seat close to exit gate of ferry and reach the passport control quickly. There is no nationality difference for customs.
I wonder if it matters which port you are arriving at in Samos. We are planning to take the ferry to Pythagoreio, not the one to Vathy. Any thoughts?
Pythagoreio one takes longer then Vathy ferry I think. What do you planning to do in Samos? If it's day tour, you can have the tour from the both ports.
We’re there for 4 days. Have a car rental in Pythag. with return to the airport. I didn’t notice that the ferry took twice as long. I chose the rental car company because not all companies want to rent to those over 74. I guess we old guys are in the same risk class as the under 21 year olds. I was really wondering if passport control delays/lines were better or worse at one port or the other.
