Shout out to Alp, booked through Withlocals. In mid-May we took his "Street Art Tour", which travels through a sort of artsy, up-and-coming neighborhood. Saw and learned the background of about twenty murals and a handful of sculptures, each with a political and/or social history. His English is good, and he knew the area well - several business owners shouted hello on our walk. He offers several other walks - Intro to Istanbul, Tastes of Istanbul...etc. BTW I've booked Withlocals in Verona, Madrid (2) and Ljubljana and each has been great.

Thanks for the info. I downloaded the app, but probably will not use this service. For a solo traveler the prices are high (in my opinion). For the street art tour the price is $200. Looks like an interesting service if you’re traveling with another person.

Agreed, Sandra. If you're really interested in the tour, you might reach out to him. He may reduce the price for a single, IDK. Otherwise, I think there's a website that lists the murals and also gives the background about them.
