Do we need to book a ferry from Kusadasi to Samos?

Hey all,

Everything I've read in our Best of Turkey tour info states that on the last day of the tour our guide will help us get arranged for the ferry to Samos, etc. Is this accurate? Or should we be doing some prebooking to save ourselves time, etc?
Thanks,
Tracey

You may want to send an e-mail to RS tours but I think they are saying they will help with information about how to arrange your onward travel from Kusadasi. In the case of ⛴️ ferry travel www.DirectFerries.com will have schedules and ticket prices once the season starts.

The RS tour guides have an amazing arsenal of information, tips, and resources available to tour members. If planning ahead is what you prefer then consider asking about the ferry process during the first day(s) of the tour. You’ll probably be assured by the response and either choose to move forward with booking it immediately or choose to relax and wait until arrival in Kusadasi.

We are flying from Samos to Athens and have therefore booked the ferry from Kusadasi online. It was straightforward.

There are 2 ports in Samos, Samos Town (Vathy) and Pythagorio, which is near the airport. directferries.com is a third party seller, but it might help when there are more than 1 ferry company. The ferry times are set up for tourists to visit Samos for the day. Your RS tour leader can assist you with purchasing tickets. The Kusadasi hotel for our RS tour in 2019 was about 1/2 mile from the ferry port.

Hello,
Is there any advice out there regarding flights from Samos Pythagorio to Athens?
I'm specifically asking about time necessary to get from Kusadasi, ferry to Samos, and get to the airport for a flight to Athens.
I'd like to make flight arrangements ahead of time.
Thanks so much,
Eileen

In 2009 after the RS tour of Turkey I took the ferry from Kusadasi to Samos. At the dock on Samos a bus awaited transferring individuals throughout the island including the airport. From there I flew to Athens. It was a seamless transition. Ferry companies, bus lines, and airlines may have changed since then so I can’t make a specific recommendation. But is was very easy to do. This I planned well in advance of my departure for the tour.
