We are arriving one day prior to a Princess cruise in July 2025. Any suggestions on a hotel close to the Salipazari cruise port? What would be the best transfer options from IST to a hotel for 16 people--8 adults and 8 children.

I'd suggest finding a private transfer company to ferry that many people. You'll likely need to book two vehicles. I used Welcome Pickups and they appear to offer minibus options that take up to 12 people. It takes at least 45-60 minutes to get from the airport into town. Depending on your arrival time, you may not have much time to see things in the city on arrival day, but assume you will have port time with the cruise line? If not, you may want to arrive two days early (jet lag coming from the US is pretty severe, especially travelling with kids)
As for lodgings, does Princess offer any suggestions? You might look at Booking.com to see what is available in that area, which is not very close to the main tourist locations.
