Cappadocia Tours

I’m feeling overwhelmed with the choices available for tours in Cappadocia. Reliable Tours charges 70 euros and is recommended by many but includes a shopping stop. There’s a tour group (Paphlagonia Tour) with no shopping stops for 50 euros covering the exact same itinerary. Which should I go for?

What should I look for when booking a balloon ride in cappadocia?

Could you add more specifics? (What do you want to do, how many days do you have, where you are staying, your transport?) Some of those details can affect recommendations. My trip was a pretty long time ago, but I booked a driver through my hotel in Goreme, and we were able to just do the specific things we wanted to do and skip the store stop (we actually did go to the jewelry store on our own the previous day). It was a perfect day!

Even the no shopping tour stops at a pottery workshop (which will indeed try to sell you things). FWIW even RS tours have "shopping stops" at a carpet place as well as a ceramics outfit. If the tour goes to the places you want to see and has good reviews, then go for it.

For balloon rides, make sure you have more than one day available to take a ride, and schedule the balloon for the first morning you are there. If it is a no fly day then most companies will allow you to roll over to a following morning. That's an important detail you should confirm before you make a reservation, including whether you would be refunded if the conditions are bad multiple days in a row.
