Does anyone know the current status of the ongoing renovation of Istanbul's Blue Mosque? Is it possible to see the interior at this point in the renovation? Is there a projected timeframe for the renovation's completion? Thx

The mosque was open when I was there in November, but most of the interior was covered in scaffolding. You can see a few small glimpses of the interior, but you can't see the scale of the place. I was glad I got to see it in 2015, and I felt sorry for my friend who was seeing it for the first time.
They started the work in 2020, and it's a pretty serious restoration. I am guessing that it will be under renovation for another year or two, but that's only a guess. I have not heard any authoritative timeframe.

I was in Istanbul last week and saw that now the exterior is concealed by material presumably covering scaffolding on the outside as well. . I’ve visited the inside before so did not go inside.

I went in early June and a lot of it was covered and under construction. You could see a little bit of the ceiling and you could see the stain glass windows. I was very disappointed
