Best places to stay in Istanbul

We are heading to Istanbul for 4 night in October and are wondering the best places to say.

I was really happy with my voice of the Roommate Hotel near Taxim. The hotel is comfortable and good value, and the location is more local/authentic while still convenient to tourism.

Define "best."

What's your budget? Your priorities?

For a short trip ("4 nights" means 3 days, which is pretty short for such a large and feature-rich city), you're going to want to be someplace close to where you are planning to go. Do you have a rough itinerary/list of things you want to see/do?

I loved Regie Ottoman Hotel in Sirkeci, mid-way between Sultanahmet and the Galata Bridge, easily walkable to both. Lovely old building, large and modern rooms and bathrooms, wonderful staff. A delicious and abundant buffet breakfast, at least it was pre-pandemic. Very reasonably priced for the quality.

Hi from Wisconsin,
We have spent several trips to Istanbul in a family run hotel, The Hotel Side. While eating breakfast on it roof top you are looking at the Blue Masque and Hagia Sophia. Not far away in the distance, but a short distance away. The prices are reasonable, the breakfast is traditional. The front desk speaks English. It is a quiet neighborhood. We only ask for clean, quiet, and safe. This place fits all three.

It is interesting. You get one or two blocks off the touristed locations and you might think you are a long way out.

I stay at the Cihangir Hotel, just a 10-minute walk from Taksim Square. It’s on a quiet residential street and has modern rooms with incredible views overlooking the Bosporus. Liked it so much from my first visit, I returned again this year. Book a Bosporus-view room if you stay here.

It's been many years, but we stayed at the Hotel Empress Zoe and it's still one of the most memorable hotels I've ever stayed in. It was in the old center and close to little shops. We splurged on the penthouse room (http://emzoe.com/penthouse-suite.html). They've since expanded the property so I can't speak to those rooms.

As a local and a licensed tour guide in İstanbul i would recommend you to stay at Divan Hotel which is located in Harbiye,The Marmara Taksim which is located at Taksim Square and Ritz Carlton which is located between Taksim and Beşiktas.I don't know about their prices. You can check on their websites.

We had a terrible experience at the Ritz-Carlton. The Concierge was angry when we asked him to make dinner reservations at restaurants nearby. He told us we should eat inside the hotel! We received no help at all. And the hotel is located where busy roads surround it making it difficult to walk in the nearby areas.

Wow! To pay Ritz rates and get that kind of treatment kinda adds insult to injury.
