Best months to travel to Turkey

Hi all,

I am planning a trip to Turkey, what would be the best month to travel? What is the weather like there?

Thanks.

I was there in late October to early November. In Istanbul and along the coast it was pleasantly warm (sandals, short sleeves) but cooler (jackets) in the hilly regions. Typical Mediterranean weather. Summer would be pretty hot. You can go to the Weather Undergound website (wunderground.com) and with a little effort (they "improved" the site - so it's harder) get to the trip planner section, enter a city, and get the historical weather data day-by-day for the last 10-12 years for any two-week period.

We've been to Turkey twice for about 3 weeks, both times in mid-September. You don't say where in Turkey you plan to visit. When we were there we spent some time on the Turquoise Coast. It was warm to hot and the water was great for swimming. Capadoccia, Selcuk (Ephesus), and Istanbul were also warm. But last year Istanbul in early October had a cold spell for a few days forcing us to wear several layers and even buy a turtle neck shirt! Bottom line, no matter what the 'normal' weather is, you need to be prepared for anything.

LOL, Chani !

They sure changed a lot all at once, right? Quite a challenge to keep up with it.

I'm now in the midst of navigating all of the 'improvements' they've made to AirBnB... o_O
