They vary, obviously.

A cheapo is about a hundred fifty bucks and they last about an hour.

I've heard of three hundred for an hour and a half, but I think those included good grub prior.

I've flown with Goreme Balloons twice and had great rides. They last about an hour and cost 120 euros. Unique experience not to be missed. http://www.goremeballoons.com/ This includes hotel pick-up and return.

I think with transportation it gets up closer to $300. Just make sure you get the cost of the whole package.

carol, hope this isn't too late to answer your question. We were on an RS Best of Turkey tour in 2011 and took the balloon ride option. My recollection is that it cost 150 euro per person (now it is 175 euro) and included transportation from Mustafapasa to Goreme where Butterfly Balloons (http://www.butterflyballoons.com) was located. There we had coffee and a light breakfast and headed to the balloon. We were in the air approximately one hour, enjoyed champagne and snacks upon landing, and then were transported to our hotel in Mustafapasa. It was an unforgettable experience!

Thank you for the information. I am going on the RS 13 day tour and will definitely sign up for the balloon ride. Good to have an idea of the cost before hand to be prepared!

I took the tour and the balloon ride last October. We were in the air for just about 1 hour. I think it was around $250 per person in cash.

I believe we paid 150 Euros per person for a one hour ride, breakfast and champagne after the flight in October 2012.
