I have done it ! And love it ! As a fan of Archaeology! I see that you write archaeological institute of America so I think it is going to be very special to make a visit it.. Here is my suggestions for Southeastern Turkey trip;

Once you are there you must also visit Karahantepe which is dating earlier than Göbeklitepe . It is just 35 km away from GöbekliTepe.

Also .. Once you are there check out Mardin , Diyarbakir , Gaziantep and even further to Van city. Those are gems of Turkey..These places are just a few hours drive away from eachother.

Unbelievable history where it is located at at Mesapotamia!!

I suggest you to book your hotels at chain hotels where you get standard of services such as Hilton , Rixos , Anemon etc…
