My wife and I are planning a trip to Turkey in the fall - Sept/Oct. We plan to spend about 4-5 days in Istanbul and then are hoping to spend about 5-7 days on a gullet, sailing the Turquoise Coast. We would like the primary focus of the gulet trip to be archaeological sites. Has anyone had a good experience with either a charter company or tour guide who organizes these trips?
I did take a five/seven day Turquoise cruise out of Bodrum. You spend the first and last night in Bodrum and generally cruise to the islands. The company I used was Barbaros. They don't themselves do an archaeology tour but you could probably hire a tour guide on individual islands. October might be a bit cool for cruising.
There is British Company that does archaeology cruises. I neglected to say that Barbaros Yaghting generally sets sail ( motoring ) in the morning and you would have the rest of the day to tour. There are many itineraries to choose from.
