Airport travel time

We are going to be staying in the Besiktas neighborhood of Istanbul in mid September. We are leaving for Paris on Turkish Airlines from Sabiha Gokcen Airport. I was wondering how long we should figure to get to the airport on a Sunday morning and how much time should we allow at the airport before our flight.

Thanks,

I would ask on the Istanbul forum on TripAdvisor. Turkish traffic can be nearly standstill in some parts of the city.

Early Sunday morning the roads are thankfully quiet, especially by Istanbul standards they are quiet :) For an international flight it is better to arrive 3 hours in advance rather than the advised 2 hours due to heightened airport security.
The bridge crossing is what causes most hold ups but early Sunday morning you'll sail across easily so allow an hour maximum for this and you'll be fine, even 40 minutes would do it.
I used to live very close to SAW airport and weekdays early morning c.06.00 could do from home to Fatih Aksaray in the main centre not far from Sultanahmet in 45 minutes,so Sunday wiill be easy.
A good door to door service is provided by this company either on a shared shuttle minibus or by private car.Don't pay too much attention to the times shown however as they have more shuttle times available, just give them your departure time and they'll advise you the correct shuttle time for you-

Alternatively if you'd prefer to have a private transfer then Efendi Travel offer a reliable service and are about the cheapest in the city for this-

I used Efendi Travel for transfers and for a day tour. They are prompt, safe drivers and their prices are very fair.
