Are there public transportation (metro or bus) to get to Istanbul city center?
Trying to budget my travel...
If there is no public transport option, anybody have rough estimate the taxi or Uber to city center??

Please provide the name of your hotel. It makes a huge difference when evaluating transportation options from the airport.

Last I checked the metro hasn’t been completed to the airport. There is public transport via bus that will take you to Sultanahmet area. From there you can connect anywhere. Taxis are cheap considering how far out the new airport is but I can’t recall how much. The buses are nice coach type affairs. Not a “city” bus.

My hotel for my upcoming trip is located at the Taksim Square Area. I watched few you tube videos (highly recommend for finding out about ways to get places) and discovered that the number 16 bus from the Airport to Taksim Square unloads right outside my hotel. Cost should be less than about $5 US. There are other buses that go to different areas.
From the videos, you go to the Bus station there at the airport (follow the signs), buy your ticket, make sure you are on the correct route, and board your bus (suitcases go below).
