18 days in Turkey.

Hi.,
We are travelling to Turkey on 30/06 for 18 days.
We fly in and out of Istanbul. Could you please suggest an itinerary.
We are late 60s and fit. We can walk all day.
The only place we have been to is Ephesus.
Must does are at least a few days in Istanbul.
A trip to Gallipoli. My sister said the day trip was long but good.
Troy is a maybe.
Bursa ,Bergama/Pergamum,Pamukkale,Aspendus ,Cappadocia are musts.
We want to do a hot air balloon ride and see the dancing somewhere.
Ankara is a maybe
We want to use public transport .
No driving ourselves.
We could do a tour for a few days but prefer to go by ourselves.
If it makes it easier a flight can be added(Wehate all the waiting for a flight)
Trains are good .
We travel cheap but can pay more if needed.
Thanking you in advance
.

Troy is a miss, mud blocks, not much else. Go to Pergamon, Ephesus, Bodrum, Fethiye, The Lycian Way, Aspendos, Antalya. We had a car do sorry I can’t help you with transportation. Amazing antiquities.

Thank you so much for your reply.
Loved your photos. I will consider your advice.
I would prefer to have to go back than squeeze too much in. I believe we can see the dervish in Istanbul. Maybe not as good but acceptable. Again,
Many thanks

Hi, I am currently in Turkey still from Anzac day. If I was you i would just fly every where. You can fly to Canakkale, stay at crowded house hotel in Eceabat, and do a anzac day tour with crowded house tours.

Then fly to Ankara, check out muesem and Anıtkabir. Then bus to Cappodocia.
And to be honest the best thing I have done so far is Ani near Kars. It's an old Armenian ruins but the scenery is brilliant. And you can fly from Ankara. Flights usually on the day are averaging me 300 lire but that is usually two connecting flights. But with 18 days you are going to see a lot more flying. And a taksi is usually cheaper than hiring a car.

Thank you.
My sister was just there and she suggested Criwded house tours as well. Wie May have to fly. I hate going in and out of airports but there aren't a lot of alternatives. We have decided to do less ,see more and we can come back again. Though that is something I like to avoid. Again, many thankd for your reply

Train from Istanbul to Konya then bus for Cappadocia would be the quickest and most comfortable. The bus trip to Eceabat was not to far aswell from Istanbul. Have fun!
