Sarnic Hotel & Sarnic Hotel Turkish Cooking Class, Istanbul

The Sarnic Hotel is an absolutely charming hotel in the historic district of Sultanahmet with, perhaps, the most helpful and delightful staff I've ever encountered. The hotel is within walking distance of the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Underground Cistern--even the Grand Bazaar and Topkapi Palace if you enjoy walking a bit--and the manager, Mehmet Emen, and his marvelous staff will make arrangements for your tours, book your hamam (Turkish bath), recommend restaurants, see to your airport transport--in short, take care of all the details of your visit so that you can enjoy your stay in Istanbul without worries. Mehmet is also the chef of the Sarnic Hotel Turkish Cooking Class, a marvelous and fun cooking experience. My class made a meal of spicy red lentil soup, aubergines with onion and tomato, cheese pastries, stuffed grape leaves, and figs stuffed with walnuts. I wish I were able to upload the photos of our dishes so you could see them, especially the gorgeous roses we made out of tomatoes! The hospitality and professionalism of the Sarnic Hotel are exceptional.
