I went to Zaans Schans today. Except for not arriving at points in a day when a known tourist site is the least visited, I like and recommend a visit. Additionally, Amsterdam still stuns me after 25 years since my first visit.

Thanks for sharing the pictures, very cool! I’m going to Amsterdam in the fall and I’ve been on the fence about visiting Zaan Schans. Do you walk on a path around all the windmills? I’m trying to figure out if the group I’m going with will like this particular site.

The windmills are all on a path; some you can pay to tour the inside
But there is also a bike path adjacent to the pedestrian one, that is part of network of bike paths.
So there are options.
I have been to the Netherlands multiple times since 2002 and this was my first to Zaans Schans.
