I just have to recommend Rose Douce. I did tons of window shopping in Venice and was thrilled when we found this store because they didn't have the same things we saw over and over again elsewhere. We spent a lot of time talking to the owner - the business has been in his family for 6 generations and he was incredibly knowledgeable about all the items in the shop, some of which are older pieces, some new. I bought a few pairs of earrings and he told me about them in great detail -
their makers, age, materials and techniques used to make them. But of course what I liked best was the uniqueness and beauty of his wares.

I got 3 pair of earrings for 250 euros. (bargained down from asking price a bit)
I don't know for sure but I think they would have cost more elsewhere, if one
could ever find them. But they are unusual designs. Two were from a few decades ago.
