At the end of April, we stayed for 4 days at the Vatican Vista in Rome, listed as an apartment on the Expedia website. It was the best choice we could have ever made! There were 3 of us, and we had 2 large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room, a stocked kitchen, and a beautiful view of St. Peter's Basilica. The cost was the same as 2 hotel rooms would have been. It was close to restaurants, the subway, and the #81 bus. We loved it. Rosanna, the manager, could not have been more helpful. Highly recommend it.
" The cost was the same as two hotel rooms ..." I usually stay at 2 star hotels and I am pretty sure the apartment you love would be much, much more than 2 rooms in one of my hotels. Can you at least give us a better clue as to the actual amount you paid? Don't be shy. You are among friends.
I think it was about 1100 euros for 4 nights. We wanted a nice place to stay within walking distance of the Vatican, with 2 separate bedrooms and a kitchen, plus a view. All of those amenities are very difficult to find in a hotel, even a 4 star hotel. Plus, we would have needed to book 2 rooms.
Oh, that is a lot of euros! Too rich for my blood.
Actually that comes out to 225 euro's a night and for the benefit of having a stocked kitchen that is actually pretty good. Was WIFI available? Usually I try to stay at places that are in the 100-140 euro range that includes breakfast & WIFI. But your location is likely a factor.
Yes, WIFI was available. It's best if you have your own laptop or other device, because the computer in the room was not working. The location of Vatican Vista was really nice, but just remember, it isn't a hotel, so you are paying for the convenience of having a small living room, 2 bathrooms, a clothes washer, etc. The grocery store is about a 15 minute walk. It was best for us since we had trouble adjusting to the time change, and we could do things without disturbing others, regardless of the hour. Really convenient.
Actually that 275 euro a night, assuming there were 4 nights to go along with the 4 days she described.
