May 14-June 26, 2013. First trip to UK and first backpacking trip abroad. 1st wk in London, 4 wks consecutive Britrail intuitive traveling, last wk in London. Absolutely brilliant trip! Some of where we went besides London + Bradford, York, Alnwick, Plymouth, Brighton-Hove, Dover-Canterbury, Cardiff-Swansea-Gower Peninsula, Penzance-St.Ives-Land's Ends, Kingston-on-Thames, Oxford, Manningtree-Ipswich, Kyle-of-Lochalsh-Isle of Skye, Inverness, and added on Eurostar to Paris. We learned the further you go north, the friendlier people are, and we found it to be true. We had a blast in Scotland and can't wait to return. I swear they never met a stranger. Even 2 10-yr old local boys befriended us on Isle of Skye and are now my penpals.

Susan, I just read your posts and I'm green with jealousy! I can hardly wait for next year when a freind and I are walking the Cotswolds Way. Just look where you and your backpack have been!! I hope you go back soon so I can read about it.
