We stayed at my cousin's place again outside Gabellino.
We visited Boccochianna, Massa Marittima,Follinca,,Vetulonia,and Tatti. I pause here to say these are all within 20-25 miles,not kilometers, of our base so it wasn't a rush at all to see these places and to enjoy nice walks and meals in them. All of these had 3 things in common that at least one of these elements would interest all of you Tuscany lovers. None had from what I saw,ZLT driving risks, at least when we there, no other American tourists,and with the exception of Tatti, menus with no English writing. Most of these towns are obscure and out of the way. Very delightful and enjoyable getting 'lost' in. So whatever obscure or unknown towns any of you folks ever visit, there no 'wrong' towns to go to. We did do San Gimagnano and Volterra in a day. They were impressive.
