Trip to Slovenia

We recently returned from an adventure starting in Croatia, then Montenegro, Slovenia, ending up in Venice. I must say that Slovenia, in particular, Bled, was the highlight of our trip. Our stay at Pension Berc, was exceptional. The owner used the downtime from COVID to totally renovate the rooms (13) and it showed. Spacious rooms, great shower, fresh cookies every morning, and the breakfast, wow the breakfast. It was, hands down the best we have had in 16 years of Rick Steves Book travel. If in Slovenia, this is the place to stay.

Now, the best part. in researching our trip (which had been postponed 2 times due to COVID) had originally contacted Tina (recommended by RS) and continued contact during the delays. We were able to get her as our guide for 3 days, and she was totally awesome. Sometimes, at the end of a tour day, you are ready for a day without a guide. Not with Tina. Every day was exceptional. From touring Bled to the Julian Alps, she made our excursions such that we couldn't wait for the next day, and were sad when we had to say goodbye.

Bled was an unexpected jewel, and may very well have been one of our best trips yet. I would highly recommend both Pension Berc and Tina as a guide. You would not be disappointed.

Nice report! Thanks for sharing. I took a trip to Slovenia in 2019 and loved it. From my perspective, the entire country is an unexpected jewel. My initial plan for my trip was Croatia-Bosnia-Slovenia for 14 days. The more I read about Slovenia, though, the more I found that I wanted to do there. I ended up with 25 days in western and central Slovenia. Great trip. I'm glad you got to get a glimpse of what a great place Slovenia is. Hopefully, you will have a chance to return and explore more.

I did a couple of virtual tours with Tina and her husband Sašo during the pandemic. Those were great. If you have time, I would be interested in hearing more about what Tina showed you during your time in Slovenia.
