Trip Report: London Bath and Oxford part 2

3/11: Train to Oxford. I have a couple of college friends who live there that I hadn't seen in 20 years, so we hung out for the day. They took me all over the city and gave me the grand tour. All the flowers are starting to come out. We had meat pies for lunch. That evening I had a burrito, and I'll say that it was good but the British have a very different definition of what "spicy" means ;)
I left Oxford that night and went back to London.

3/12: My last day in Britain :( I went to the V and A and really enjoyed that. Their cafeteria food is good too. Then I went to the Museum of London. I took Rick's walking tour of Soho that led me to Piccadilly Circus again and did some window shopping.

3/13:Home; and it was perfect timing since the big Eastern snowstorm hit the next day and i Made it into Logan just before they started cancelling flights.

What a great trip! Can't wait to go back.

Two of my favorite museums--the V&A and the Museum of London.
Both with good cafes.
Thanks for your trip report!
I am enjoying it!

Thanks for a lovely trip report, it helped me relive my itinerary in 2013 when I did London - 4 nights, Bath - 2 nights and Oxford- 2 nights and back to London for 1 night, then flying home. In Bath, we had tea at The Pump Room, saw the Roman baths and even went to a play. At the Bath Abbey, we saw the huge book they keep with the names of all the people killed in the bombing raids in WWII. In particular, I remember reading in the book the weekend of April 22(or so) in 1942 with hundreds of women and children with their names and ages that died in the Nazi raids. The Germans targeted Bath and other civilian areas. We were there in Nov right after Nov 11, the day of remembrance, saw the red poppies still lined up outside the Abbey.
Then we took the train to Oxford and saw Blenheim Palace and the Ashmolean Museum, among other sights.
Yes, the V&A, the National Gallery, British Museum and Churchill War Rooms as well as the Wallace Collection are some of my favorite places! I know you had a wonderful time.

I love England and am looking forward to returning this Sept.
