Trip report- Colmar, FR

We wanted to add a van tour of the Alsace wine region: L ALSACIETTE. Agnes made our trip to Colmar and Alsace very special. There is no way we could have experienced the food, wine and history of the region in a single day without her knowledge and familiarity.

Also, the Hotel Colmar met our needs very well. It is quite new and thus very clean and sparkling. Best breakfast on our trip. They did our laundry without asking to be paid! It is a hefty hike in to the old town, but there is very good bus service around the corner at the train station. Across from the station at the Bristol hotel we had one of the best meals of our 21 days in Amsterdam and France.

Writing this brings a smile to my face- glad we could share.

Thanks for the report! We will be in Colmar for two nights in August. We will take a look at the restaurant you suggested.

Wow, thanks for the info on L'Alsaciette. I would love to take their Christmas excursion. I have saved for future reference.

Good advice for the tour, since doing the wine thing in Alsace is pretty difficult without a car and not everyone wants to rent one (especially when wine tasting!) And helpful I imagine since a lot of wineries in the region require appointments for tasting, may not speak English, etc.
