RS says to reserve a spot at least one week ahead of your visit to Amsterdam. It is outdated info. I would do 5-6 weeks to get a time slot of your choosing. It is April 3rd 2024 and it is COMPLETELY sold out until April 24th.
If the Van Gogh Museum sells out and if so, how far in advance is very much date dependent. The last 2 weeks of April are absolute peak peak peak season for Amsterdam and surroundings because of the tulips. During that time frame, sights like the Anne Frank house and the Van Gogh museum indeed sell out multiple weeks in advance. In quieter times of the year, these sights don’t sell out at all or sell out just a day or 2 in advance.
And in Haarlem, the Corrie ten Boom House sold out months in advance of our April visit. The RS Guide said to get tickets ten days in advance, and ten months was probably more appropriate.
Good luck!
I agree. Best advice is to get your ticket to Anne Frank House as soon as they become available...go on website to see when they go on sale for your dates and log in exactly at that time. Then get tickets to VsnGogh and Rijsmuseum
Ran into this too. Thought I could just buy tickets the week before. NOPE! Ha!
